My name is Julia Sutor, I am 26 years old and Junior Consultant at HPP since May 2018. After having completed my bachelor’s degree in Mainz at the European Management School, I first gained practical marketing experience before starting my master’s degree in Business Management at the University of Heilbronn. During that, I completed a double master’s degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. As part of an internship and my master’s thesis, I was able to gain initial experience in product management at an international automobile manufacturer. Based on my experience in marketing and product management, it was clear to me that I would like to start my career at a management consultancy.
The first major project directly awaited me at a telecommunications provider. For me, this was very exciting because I was not able to gather any experience in the telecommunications industry until then. Within a very short time, I needed to understand the process structure of the company and, together with my colleagues, develop a strategic realignment in consideration of the new European General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR). This quickly showed me which competencies a consultant needs to bring along in order to analyze the status quo within a very short amount of time and, based on that, present concepts and strategic approaches. I really like working in a team of four HPP consultants and each one of us is actively involved in the project progress. Besides the professional life, we got to know each other as a team during after-work activities. All of this reflects HPP’s corporate culture just like HPP promotes a sense of solidarity through numerous corporate events such as strategy meetings, barbecues and vineyard hikes, or simply an after-work beer amongst colleagues.
HPP as a strategy and marketing consultancy fulfills my interests in two ways: First, I like the industry focus on the automotive industry and second, I like the family-like corporate culture. On my first day at work, I received a very friendly welcome and I immediately had the feeling of belonging to the “HPP family”. What I particularly like is that the colleagues all meet at eye level and a steep learning curve is guaranteed by close cooperation with experienced consultants in one team.
For the future, I look forward to more exciting and challenging projects in collaboration with great colleagues, where we can provide customers with added value through a customer- and solution-oriented approach.
